originally when i woke up this morning i was kind of grumpy about it being 85 degrees. i scowled as rob opened the window and i was greeted with a warm breeze and a blue blue sky. ``why can't it snow here?`` i pouted. ``i mean, it's november! this sucks.`` rob reminded me that the chances of it actually snowing in this part of san diego were slim to none. i pouted some more. then... enter josh. josh was all smiles. couldn't believe it was 85 degrees smack dab in the middle of november. people running around in shorts and tanks tops and flip-flops. couldn't get over how cool it was to be able to ride around with your sunroof up and windows rolled down. couldn't contain himself at being able to lay out on a warm sandy beach staring up at a cloudless bright blue sky. couldn't wait to get out into that 70 degree water and surf those big wind-induced waves. having a roomie from iowa is a good thing. it really makes you take a second look around. makes the mundane seem exciting and new. makes the daily routine seem fresh. makes the endless summer something to cherish, not scorn. definitely a good thing. *smiles* so i decided to make the best of the day. rob and i already had plans to go to dog beach. but we had intended on hanging out there for an hour, instead of the four it turned out to be. after that we hit up the dog wash and then took the long way home. drove along the scenic coastline and took in the salty air. once home, we made a beeline for the backyard. hopped up onto the porch and watched the simmering sun set over the shining silver sea. how's that for alliteration? *g* anyway. it was a beautiful day. and with the exception of about 180 seconds this morning, i enjoyed every minute of it. *smiles* any thoughts?
